Although I’ve already tried several affordable gins this year, I’m still eager to continue my quest for the perfect gin for cocktails. And, I wanted the London dry gin in the iconic green bottle, Tanqueray Gin, to be the next thing I test out. This iconic British brand was first established in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray. While the original distillery, Vine Street Distillery, is no longer in use, they still use the original recipe of juniper, coriander, angelica root, and licorice. BOTTLE SPECS ❖ Spirit: London Dry Gin ❖ Distillery: Produced and Bottled in Great Britian for Charles Tanqueray and Co. ❖ ABV: 47.3% (94.6 Proof) ❖ Low Price […]
After recently reviewing Beefeater Gin, I was inspired to try out some other affordable London Dry style gins. And despite not loving the last product I tried from this brand, Bombay Bramble, I still couldn’t resist the bright blue bottle of Bombay Sapphire Gin. Although Bombay Sapphire Gin was first introduced in 1986, it takes inspiration from a 200 year old recipe. Hamilton only added two ingredients, grains of paradise and cubeb berries. The other eight botanicals used are: Licorice […]

Beefeater, the nickname of The Yeomen Warders who have guarded the Tower of London for centuries, was first established by James Burrough in 1863 and is currently the only international gin that’s still distilled in the heart of London. They still use Burrough’s original recipe that includes nine botanicals: juniper, seville oranges, lemon peel, almond, angelica root and seed […]

Citadelle Gin is produced by Maison Ferrand, a Cognac, France based spirits company that produces a variety of spirits including gin, cognac, and rum. With wild Juniper growing near the property of the production facilities, Château de Bonbonnet, this sparked the idea for Citadelle Gin, which launched in 1996. The brand now grows and harvests their juniper berries on site, which are eventually included in the gin with 19 other botanicals. These botanicals are added one at a time in a patented technique called “progressive infusion”. It is then distilled in naked flame copper pot stills. This particular bottle of Original gin is not aged […]
