Unfortunately, the brand does not disclose details about it’s production process. However, they do mention that it is made with a neutral grain spirit base, and flavored with roasted macadamia nut and other “exotic natural flavorings”.

My Tasting notes
I took my first whiff of this liqueur, and it was nutty and a little bit fruity, similar to the aroma of amaretto. The scent was overall very sweet.
I took a sip, and the flavor was smooth, with a soft and sweet quality to the nutty flavor. The nuttiness lingered in my mouth, and was a bit heavier in the aftertaste. It went down quick and easy.
Cocktail
Macadamia Nut Chi Chi
Ingredients
- 2oz vodka
- 1.25oz macadamia nut liqueur
- 4oz pineapple juice
- 1oz coconut cream
- garnish: cocktail umbrella
Instructions
- Add the ingredients to a blender with ice, and blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a glass.
- Garnish with a cocktail umbrella if desired.
Inside of a cocktail, this liqueur tastes very smooth. The nut notes add a nice dimension to the pineapple and coconut flavors, compared to a classic Piña Colada. The cocktail overall was sweet, indulgent, and consistent with each sip.

Overall, I feel that this bottle of Kahana Royale Macadamia Nut Liqueur is a good budget option if you’re looking for sweet, consistent nuttiness. Although it’s certainly not the best or most natural nut liqueur out there, I think it is priced appropriately low, without pretending to be anything fancier than it is.
The flavor is smooth, palatable, and tasty inside a cocktail. If this sounds like what you are looking for, I think it is worth picking up for your sweeter cocktails.
