bottle of Di Amore Amaretto sitting on a wooden table, in front of a mixed white and wooden background

Di Amore Amaretto

Di Amore Amaretto is produced by Barton Distilling Company – a Kentucky based spirits company owned by Sazerac. Although many retailers list “Italy” as Di Amore‘s country of origin, I could not find definitive evidence of where it was made. Funnily enough, Sazerac does not seem to be publicly associated with any Italian distilleries, nor does Barton 1792 Distillery seem to publicly claim the brand. This particular bottle of Amaretto Liqueur is produced using crushed essence of apricot. It is bottled at 42 proof. Bacardi Superior

My partner and I recently had a craving for mojitos and daiquiris, so it was definitely time for us to pick up a new bottle of rum. Since white rum is ideal for cocktails due to its lack of color and lighter flavor profile, I thought it would be a good opportunity to purchase one of the most affordable and widely available options: Bacardi Superior White Rum. While Bacardi is currently produced in various locations around the world, it was initially established in 1862 by Don Facundo Bacardi Masso in Santiago De Cuba. The iconic bat logo was created around this time after Don’s wife noticed a colony of fruit bats living in the rafters […]

Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur is produced by Luxardo – an Italy-based spirits producer originally founded in Zara, Dalmatia in 1821. They produce a variety of spirits including liqueurs, aperitifs, and more. After World War II left much of Zara in ruins, the distillery was rebuilt in Torreglia, Italy in 1947. A family-owned company each step of the way, it is now being run by the seventh generation of Luxardos. This particular bottle of Maraschino liqueur is modeled after a Dalmatian liqueur called rosolio maraschino, which was made in convents and monasteries as early as the medieval period. Luxardo Maraschino is made from marasca […]

Jack Daniel’s No. 7

When it comes to American whiskey brands, few are as famous as Jack Daniel’s. And despite seeing it everywhere, I somehow managed to never actually try it. But since I’ve been searching for potential go-to cocktail spirits this summer, I thought it was the perfect time to finally pick up a bottle of Jack Daniel’s No. 7. Jack Daniel’s has had a significant influence on American whiskey for over a century. The distillery was first established by Jasper Newton Daniel, better known as Jack, in 1864 and pioneered the technique of charcoal filtering whiskey. Although there are questions about the true originator of this technique (Jack […]

St. Elder Elderflower Liqueur

St. Elder Elderflower Liqueur is produced by St. Elder Artisanal Liqueur – a Massachusetts based spirits company that produces a handful of liqueurs such as Elderflower, Pamplemousse, and Blood Orange. Each of their liqueur products is handcrafted and made in small batches, with the aim of creating a pure, fresh flavor that can be used in cocktails. This particular bottle of Elderflower Liqueur is made using natural elderflower blossom extract from the American Elder tree. It is infused into an unspecified base spirit, and the final product is bottled at 40 proof. BOTTLE SPECS ❖ ABV: 20% ❖ Distillery: Undisclosed (Somerville, MA) […]
